Across Shire of Gnowangerup, Broomehill East, Gnowellen and beyond

First 5 teams to register will receive some exclusive 2022 Fox Shoot merchandize.

Participants are invited from across the Shire of Gnowangerup as well as Broomehill East and Gnowellen and beyond to target foxes, feral cats and rabbits.

Shooting may start from 5:00pm Friday the 25th February 2022. Tally count at 6:00am sharp Saturday at Ongerup Tip. Free cooked breakfast and awards at Yongergnow Centre (Ongerup) from 6:30am. All community members from across the region are welcome to attend the breakfast.

The event is registered for the Red Card program, through which Sporting Shooters Association of Australia WA is donating $5 for every cat and fox culled (to a capped amount) to the Regional Men’s Health Initiative.

If shooters targeting the Corackerup / Monjebup/ Cowallelup areas would prefer, a count and breakfast could be also organised by NSPNR at Bush Heritage Australia’s Red Moort. Contact Laura Page 0401 553 285 laura@nspnr.com.au by 15th February to let her know.

Shooters are asked to geolocate where each catch was shot with a photo and GPS coordinates (easy to do with a mobile phone) to improve knowledge about where foxes, cats and rabbits are occurring. This will attract bonus points.

This year Yongergnow-Ongerup CRC and North Stirling Pullinup Natural Resources would like to bring you a bigger bolder Fox Shoot with lots of exciting prizes. Sponsors include Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre, Bush Heritage Australia, South Coast Natural Resource Management, the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, Farmers Centre 1978-Albany, Elders, and Animal Control Technologies WA.

Team Registration is mandatory. Please read the event rules before registering your team.

All responsibility rests with the participants. Shooting must only take place on private land with landowner’s consent and we strongly encourage safe practices.

If you don’t wish to participate in the event but wish to make your property available for shooting, please contact Laura Page (0401 553 285 laura@nspnr.com.au) by 15th February to let her know.
